The Offroad4x4  Training Centre  in association with 4x4  Offroad  Academy is happy to announce the following 4x4 Training is being offered through the Offroad4x4 Training Centre under the management of Craig Parsons – ASSR-12-78. The 4x4 Training is TETA Accredited 4x4 Training in accordance with BASIC 4x4 US254135 and ADVANCED 4x4 Training US254154 as well as RPL Training for both Standards.

 

The Offroad4x4 Training Centre in association with 4x4  Offroad  Academy  is an accredited training provider under TETA with following accreditaion: TETA Accredited  4x4 Off-road Training : TETA 10-113.

 

We have training venues in Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Western Cape and KZN with the ability to offer accredited 4x4 training around the Country.

 

In Gauteng and Mpumalanga – Andre Kroep is the 4x4 trainer

 

In Western Cape – Matthew Parsons is the 4x4 trainer

 

In KZN – Willie Pretorius is the 4x4 trainer

 

Below is a summary of various 4x4 courses offered.

 

Introductory 4x4 Training

 

This is focused on the new owner of a 4x4 who wants to know how to use the vehicle correctly in an Offroad environment.

In the session we cover:

·      How to prepare your 4x4 for going off road

·      Engine inspection

·      Recovery points

·      Drive Train

·      Recovery equipment one should have

·      How to read an obstacle

·      Client drives their vehicle through the various 4x4 obstacles to see the technology of the vehicle working

The session is just over 2 hours long.

Cost R950.00 per vehicle and you are invited to bring your partner or friend a long.

 

Basic 4x4 – Accredited training – US 254135

 

It is assumed that the learner attending this training will be in possession of a Code B or EB Drivers License. The leaner will apply the basic concepts of 4WD. This training will enable the learner to practically demonstrate the basic knowledge and skills required to handle a 4WD, on-road and off-road, perform vehicle preparation, understand preventative maintenance and handle basic recovery situations and equipment, in an environmentally considerate manner.

 

In the session we cover:

The range of features, vehicle options and capabilities of a 4WD An understanding of the preparation of a vehicle for off-road conditions A basic understanding of the various chassis and suspension configurations A basic understanding of a drive train Operating a 4WD vehicle in off-road conditions

Cost R2200.00 per person, excludes the two 4x4 venues used for the training. It is over two days with theory and practical with homework being done in between.

 

Advanced 4x4 – Accredited training – US 254154

 

It is assumed that the learner attending this training has completed the Basic accredited 4x4 training for US 254135. The leaner will have completed at least 5 4x4 routes with the last 12 months prior. This training will enable the learner to practically demonstrate the basic recovery techniques required when getting stuck in an Offroad environment. Knowledge and skills required to assess lifespan of current recovery equipment.

In this session we cover:

The differences in driving 4WD on-road and off-road Basic knowledge of passenger and vehicle safety precautions The features of a 4WD vehicle for off-road conditions The understanding of off-road conditions and their relation to vehicle preparation and behaviour Basic recovery techniques Driving techniques typical to specific obstacles that are nature and terrain dependent

Cost R3200.00 per person, excludes the two 4x4 venues used for the training. It is over two days with theory and practical with homework being done in between.

 

RPL 4x4 – Accredited training – US 254135 and US254154

 

This stands for Record of Prior Learning -  RPL. It is assumed that the learner attending this training has sufficient knowledge and experience when it comes to 4x4. Both standards are assessed through theory as well as practical demonstration. The leaner will demonstrate their current level of competence through answering set questions and demonstrating the various recovery techniques. This training is created for an experienced driver who does not need to attend the required training days for the Basic and Advanced courses.

 

Cost R2800.00 per person, excludes the two 4x4 venues used for the training. It is over two days with theory and practical situations being completed by the learner.

 

Atlantis Dunes – Recovery Training

 

This course is held at Atlantis Dunes – Cape Town. It covers vehicle preparation for the Dunes,

In the session we cover:

Preparation of our 4x4 for the Dunes Engine inspection How to drive in convoy How to read the Dunes How to determine entry and departure angles Various recovery techniques in Dune driving

The session is just over 3 hours long.

Cost R1000.00 per vehicle and you are invited to bring your partner or friend a long.

 

Recovery Training

 

This course is held at the three venues around the country. It covers the various recovery techniques one should know when 4x4’ing.

In the session we cover:

Correct use of a winch Static recovery Kinetic recovery Hi-Lift Jack usage Air Jack usage Tire puncture repair Additional recovery equipment

The session is just over 3 hours long.

Cost R1000.00 per vehicle and you are invited to bring your partner or friend a long.
